2017 NSC State of Readiness

The MEC for Education, Ms Martha Bartlett will address the members of the media on the state of readiness for the upcoming National Senior Certificate Examinations on Friday, 13 October 2017 in Kimberley.

The Northern Cape Department of Education continues to improve appropriate standards and strengthen initiatives to deepen the maturity of the Examination Assessment system. We have continued to identify and curb threats to mitigate the Examination and Assessment’s credibility.

On this day, the MEC will also officiate the Provincial Pledge Signing Ceremony. The rationale for the pledge is to assist with the curbing and control of examination irregularities and is an attempt to adopt a more proactive rather than a reactive approach to the reduction of examination irregularities.

Everyone attending the ceremony (except for the learners) are encouraged to dress in white.  The colour white symbolises amongst others purity, cleanliness and neutrality.

The provincial pledge signing ceremony will be followed by the Press Conference at the Tetlanyo High School on our state of readiness for the 2017 NSC Examinations.
